Donald #13 for 2011

Well, it's 4th of July Weekend and it's a heavy running weekend. I got up bright and early at 5am to do a half marathon training run. It was early enough that the heat and humidity didn't really play a factor until the last 30 minutes or so. In all, a good run. Late this evening I got in weight training.

It's been kind of a fun family day. This morning I had to get a few things at The Home Depot. I had the boys for the morning while Krystal tended to a shop in town for one of her friends. The Home Depot run was intended to be a quick in and out. But, it didn't go that way.

They had a kids craft workshop that the boys REALLY wanted to do. We had the time, so why not? It turned out to be pretty cool. It was all free and the boys got to make wooden cup coasters and coaster caddies. Then, since it was the 4th of July Weekend, they got to paint everything red, white, and blue (including their father's hands). I'm just glad I didn't get my fingers smashed by a hammer when they were putting together the caddies.

The boys also got certificates, orange Home Depot aprons with their names on them, and pins showing the project they completed. When we got home, the boys kept wearing their orange aprons around the neighborhood. Good advertising for Home Depot. Anyway, they really want to go back and do the next project.

Still goofin' . . .
