Today my marathon training schedule called for a rest day. By now, you should all know what rest day means to me. Anything but. I had to find a loophole.
The Runner's World training schedule gave me the loophole I needed. On "rest days" I'm allowed to do anything but run. This can include elliptical, ski machines, or weight lifting. This is my kind of training schedule!
I chose to do weight lifting. I started out by doing 300 abdominal crunches. Then I proceeded to hit every single weight machine at the gym. I'm not one for free weights--at least not yet. In all, I worked out for an hour.
I'm feeling pretty tight all over right now. It's a very different post-workout feeling than my cardio (running, elliptical) days. I'm guessing there will be significant muscle burn tomorrow. So much the better. . .
Until next time, just keep goofin' . . .

I love training schedules that allow you to do something on a rest day! I mean, every now and then I like a proper rest day - but I also like to feel pretty active!
And 300 crunches - impressive! I get bored and tight after about 100...
Good job, Gaston. Just don't overdo it! :-)
No need for you to rest...I'm doing all the resting for you! *laughs* Grrrrr....I don't know why I can't find motivation to get moving more than 3 miles....I've already fallen off the wagon with my training schedule! :o( HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPP!! :o)
